Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians – by Brandon Sanderson

alcatraz.jpgPoor Alcatraz Smedry has not had an easy life. As an orphan, he has gone through a succession of foster parents mainly due to his unfortunate propensity for breaking things. On his thirteenth birthday he receives a mysterious bag of sand and his life turns completely upside down. After a visit from his up till now, unknown grandfather, Alcatraz discovers that he is the youngest in a family known as occulators whose sole mission in life is to prevent the evil Librarians from attaining world domination. I just have to say that this was one of the funniest, most twisted books I’ve ever read. For example: each of the Smedry’s has a unique “talent. As previosly mentioned Alcatraz breaks things. His Grandfather arrives late to everything, and his cousin Sing falls down whenever danger is imminent. Now you wouldn’t think that these would be very useful talents, but after reading this book you will be amazed at how helpful they can be. I cannot reccommend this book enough. It’s a fantastic read for not only children but adults also.
